Jolly Rancher Advertisement Analysis

Decent Essays
This is a great advertisement well at least during the 80s or 90s. It looks very appealing and unique compare to the advertisement of jolly rancher in todays world. This advertisement does not look very old however it is still not as vivid as our advertisement today. I love how you said that the green apple is bigger than buildings because it has huge flavor in such a small candy. Indeed, it does jolly rancher is one the best and tastiest candy today. I believe the main audience for this advertisements are children’s and adolescents since people at this age really loves candies. The big green apple really pops to me the most since it’s the most color out of everything in the picture. I definitely think that this advertisement has a hidden message

Advertisements are deceiving; cigarette companies use them to target consumers of different social statuses, race, and ages. The majority of the ads portray an image that makes the consumer believe that if they use their product they will look or be as happy as the person shown in the ad. Yet many ads do not show the side effect that their product can have or the effect it can cause on the consumers health. For example in my ad, it tries to convince young adults to buy Newport cigarettes. The ad targets young adults of all races, making them believe that if they smoke Newport cigarettes they will look as healthy, have a good time, and be cool around their friends and peers when in reality it is not true, therefore this ad is ineffective.…

The message of this advertising is obviously to attract us and get our attention. This ad has to infleunce us or encourage us to get some food from Macdonald or more precisely to go and buy some "filet-o-fish" .So they want to convince us, to buy their food , make us want their food. But if we look closer on the ad, it's a little bit disgusting and scary . For us this a complete failure because instead to encourage us to go eat their " filet-o-fish, it repel us .Maybe if we turn to the point of view of a children it can be for him very funny and cool .…

Furthermore, the commercial took on a futuristic ambiance. Some illustrations of this are the fruit canons, the dome, and the automated aspects like his face shield. The company also attempts to connect with the consumers by having the actor be in their target demographic. While elderly and middle aged adults have preferences and children are still at the discretion of their parents, young adults have yet to have a go to gum or the like wise and would be more likely to try abnormal flavors. The technology used is also important as the younger generations are familiar and interested in new technology.…

In the twenty-first century we have become ingrained in a culture through which McDonaldized systems (through rules, regulations and scripts), have ultimately come to threaten the ability of those involved to think intelligently (Ritzer, 1998). It is clearly dehumanizing to find oneself mindlessly functioning like a robot within corporately structured systems. Chipotle's advertisement (2013), promotes themselves as a company that has been able to detach from the demanding, hegemonic structure, which further promotes an image of the company that is not “real” or “true”. McDonaldization of the food industry and the lack of control a person has over what is in the food they eat has created a runaway juggernaut.…

Population growth in the United States during the late 19th century proved to be a pivotal point for many Native Americans—they had to decide whether to conform to the very different lifestyle of the whites or isolate themselves from a rapidly advancing society. In the 19th century, it was widely believed that Native Americans could not adapt to modernity and would vanish. Although this proved untrue, many sources cast a doubtful light on the ability of their Native American counterparts. In fact, half of the documents displayed the whites’ dubiousness for Native Americans. However, much to the delight of historians, the other half of the documents correctly asserted that Native Americans were capable of adaptation and modernization.…
