The Joint Commission, created in 1951, is a non-profit organization composed of 32 members, including doctors, nurses, administrators, and among others in the health facility. The Joint Commission undergoes a survey every 3 years to assure safety. The intention is to provide a high quality and safety care in the medical facility by investigating errors, analyzing the cause, and fixing the problem. In 2002, The Joint Commission established its National Patient Safety Goals (NPSGs), wherein the major goal is contribute for an excellence to patient care.
