Most soldiers will have to travel to the multiple military bases located throughout our country, even if they get used to one you could be transferred to another. They get to repair, maintain, and operate multiple different types of tanks, ships, and aircrafts. The Military Expedition Unit is trained to give the most substantial response in the shortest amount of time at anywhere and anytime they are needed. They also have the chance to be sent overseas and fighting the enemy, or helping out in other countries. For example the infantry is on the front lines so it may take a toll on your mentality. Infantry is the central component of Marine ground forces. Now most people call war a bad thing, and say that it takes its toll, even though this may be true, you should know the risks before even signing up. They will train you to be in top shape, and that may be physically tiring but it’s needed if you want to be in the military. The infantry is trained to locate, and destroy the enemy by fire and maneuver, or repel the enemy’s assault by fire and close combat. After recruit training infantrymen will attend the Infantry Training Battalion course at either the school of Infantry East at Camp Geiger, NC, or the School of Infantry West at Camp Pendleton, CA. The infantry operates weapons and equipment in ground combat operations. Duties include operating and maintaining weapons , such as rifles, machine guns, mortars, and hand grenades; locating, constructing, and camouflaging infantry positions and equipment; evaluating terrain and recording topographical information; operating and maintaining field communications equipment; assessing need for directing support fire; placing explosives and performing minesweeping activities on land; and participating in basic reconnaissance
