Joining The Drama Club

Decent Essays
Joining the Drama club, is one of the decisions I am most proud of. However it has always required a lot from me as a person. When I first joined I knew it would take dedication and some time after school. I, however, was not aware it would take nights of hardly any sleep, seeing members of drama more then my own family, sacrificing hours upon my weekdays and weekends, all the while keeping a good great point average. As I look back to last year, I am still shocked that I was able to participate in two shows and maintain a 4.0 state gpa. I often questioned if I was smart and capable enough to balance extracurricular and school at the same time. Two qualities that not only helped me last year but, I also believe would help me as an NHS member

To be a leader, one must first earn the trust and respect of one’s peers and become someone that they would listen to. As a petite, easily distracted female, I often have trouble becoming a person that others listen to outside of the classroom. Thus, becoming this leader and being elected and inducted as the president of the York Suburban Trojan Theatre Club is my most impressive achievement in leadership. At first, people did not know who I was, so I was able to build a reputation for myself by becoming the props crew lead in all but official title. Still, when backstage, I have a reputation as a leader.…

Upon enrolling in high school I realized that I could no longer put an average effort into easy class work and be rewarded with academic satisfaction. After joining the honors course along with band and the FFA, it was revealed to me that high school was a different culture than middle school. I quickly discovered that hard work would be required to be successful in everything I will ever do. Band demanded countless hours of practice, but I ultimately gained first chair in the top band, as well as squad leader over the trumpet section. Like band, the FFA required hours of dedication, but I distinguished myself from other FFA members.…

Being in NHS has allowed me to embrace what I like to do most – being involved. This has given me the opportunity to meet and bond with other students who share the same interests and ambitions as me. It has also allowed me to better my school and community by participating in service projects. I was asked to be a member of the National Society of High School Scholars, which gave me access to a community of students with similar interests and ambitions as me. Being engaged in my high school has not only involved participating in clubs, but also in sports and activities.…

I am writing this essay in order to earn my place in National Junior Honor Society. I believe that my academic skills meet that of what is required of this group. I was the only one to have earned the Presidential Award for Academic Excellence in the 2013-14 school year. I have received straight A’s every quarter of the two completed years of middle school which means that I also subsequently received High Honors those quarters as well. I haven’t ever received a detention or an A.C.E. of any kind, and I intend to keep it that way.…

Before addressing why Pitt is a good choice for me, I would like to review why I am a good choice for Pitt. The University of Pittsburgh values their “talented, diverse and high achieving students”, their “safe and healthy campuses”, their unique balance of “fun and camaraderie with internships and other learning opportunities outside the classroom”, and their focus on “developing students into global citizens” (University of Pittsburgh webpage, ‘Prospective Students’). I am a well-rounded student who places priority upon academics, as well as a broad array of performing arts extracurricular activities, over 300 hours of community service, several job experiences and religious organizations. Therefore, if admitted to The University of Pittsburgh, I would fit right in with the ardent and accomplished student body, just as I would benefit as a person and as…

Though I am grateful for my midwestern upbringing, I cannot deny the pushes and pulls of the heritage that propels me to look beyond Milwaukee. Every year my family has two Thanksgivings. The National Honors Society defines what it means to serve the student body as well as the community. As a student athlete in the Sutton school system leadership, service, character and scholarship have impacted my very way of life. Having a persistent attitude is what makes a student shine and as a prospective candidate for NHS I will incorporate this quality into each of the four pillars improving the society as a whole. Three years ago I began the NHS application process though I had little experience in volunteering for the community and lacked the opportunity to develop myself as a leader this changed as my high school career went on. Through athletics and long hours of volunteering with the town's technology department has provided me with numerous opportunities as high school went on.…

Marriages or relationships are often destroyed by energy sapping behaviours intended to achieve aims that are selfish or detrimental to the benefits, independence or existence of such relationships. Identifying a behavioural pattern that fits this description is never possible without understanding why, how, and when such behaviour calls out your attention? Drama queens are any person(s) who actively or passively rely as a way of an endless need for attention, indulgence and sympathy from others over perceived ills, desires, worries, etc of their past, present or future existence. They are an embodiment or collection of past experiences; often times they tends to grasp only onto any slight unpleasant experience and magnify such to the extent that it becomes such a cancerous sore to their relationships? Alternatively they act out of their insecurities and perceptions yet deliberately present such in manners that can be very calculating and cruel?…
