I joined ROTC to pursue my passion of leadership. I have found nothing in life that is more meaningful than the unique relationship between that of a leader and a follower. The dynamic between the two is something I’ve always wanted to understand better, and something I enjoy participating in very much. I was inspired to this passion by my experiences in Scouting and Civil Air Patrol, particularly by my scout master and Deputy Commander for Cadets. Both were outstanding leaders who helped me develop into who I am today. Their guidance helped me see leadership as an ultimate service to others and to value and respect both leaders and followers of all types.

Basic ROTC is the only component required by a tertiary (college) level student to have completed as requirement for completion of the National Service Training Program. Military subjects are provided similar to how military instructions are conducted in the service academies and graduates are automatically enlisted in the reserve force of the particular service branch (Army) administering the training.
