Fight Club Case Study Summary

Joseph was disturbing his peers mostly throughout group and provoking them by mocking them and arguing with his peers all throughout the group. Joseph had to be redirected several times and asked to go to his room for his actions during group. Once returning to group Joseph was able to redirect himself and continue group in without any interruptions once told he will receive consequences for his disruptive behavior. Once told this Joseph tried to discuss issues in about his peers provoked him into not being able to control his impulse. Which lead to Joseph being removed from group again for provoking his peers by stating arguments not pertaining to group.

A few times he had to prompt for feeding into a peer’s negative behavior by laughing and encouraging his peer to act out in negative behavior. He was able to be redirected and even engaged in the conversation by discussing certain situations with impulsivity where he couldn’t control his impulse control.

La’Sedrick was able to discuss his experience with impulsivity and how it affected his behavior in the past. He was also able to recall the thoughts he has when he has negative impulses. Michael was very active all throughout the group and carried a significant amount of the conversation by himself. All though he had a tendency to infrequently to get off the immediate topic and ramble into an unrelated subject, he was able to be redirected and discuss candidly his experiences with impulsivity and was very vocal about the physical strategies he uses to stop himself from engaging in negatively impulsive behaviors such as squeezing his eyes closed and clenching his fists while engaging in deep breathing so as to give himself a cue to stop and
