Johnson & Johnson is the largest manufacture of health care products worldwide which include pharmaceutical, and medical devices and consumer goods. Johnson & Johnson has been in the manufacturing business for over 100 years with many more years to come without a quality management system this company would not be able to maintain their position in the production industry. There are many factors that go into quality management of any organization such as quality control, quality practices, research and development and customer and supplier relation. Some of the steps taken at Johnson & Johnson in regards to quality practices are regularly testing through advanced technology and pharmacologist, toxicologist as well as many lab analysis of any one product that Johnson & Johnson produces (unknown, Indgredient Saftey , 2016). As well as recalling many products after testing has resulted in defects to products. All companies with in the manufacturing of health care products take great strides in following not only FDA and GMP guidelines but also create and maintain a set standard of quality within each company. Quality control plays the largest role in any manufacturing company from making a toothbrush to making a pacemaker. Johnson & Johnson quality control procedures are quality or quantity. In the past decade Johnson & Johnson has come under fire for issues with the quality of their product in 1982 Johnson & Johnson recalled over 31 million bottles of Tylenol as there were seven people killed by an unknown individual spiking bottles of Tylenol with cyanide (Nussbaum, 2016). Each supplier of raw materials must meet all of Johnson & Johnson’s supplier control panel. This means that all products are tested by both state of the are equipment, but also by toxicologist to make sure that all raw materials can not only meet Johnson & Johnson’s rigorous standards as well as testing to make sure that all materials will be able to have shelf life until the material is needed. For Johnson & Johnson customer satisfaction is the end result in their quality management system. When the credo for Johnson & Johnson was created the sole intend was to create a standard that the customer or patient always comes first in order for Johnson & Johnson to maintain this credo a customer feedback system has been put in place so that feedback in regards to products as well customer experience can be evaluated at any given time. The feedback received lets Johnson & Johnson customer supply evaluate where improvements are needed as well as where they are excelling all data that is collected is shared not only with stakeholders but openly shared with the public (Johnson, Customer Satisfaction, 2016). One of the newest forms of customer satisfaction is a new e-commerce section which gives customers and business easier access to many of the products that Johnson & Johnson and its subsidiaries produce
