Johnny’s stronged willed, compassionate personality makes him truly a desirable friend. His loyalty is another reason why he would make a great friend. Loyalty is a very big deal to me and Johnny has plenty of it. “I had to. They were drowning you Pony. They might have killed you. And they had a blade. They were gonna beat me up.(Hinton )" When Ponyboy was being drowned by socs Johnny’s loyalty to Ponyboy saved his life. His decision to kill Bob saving Pony’s life was a true act of loyalty. He put it on himself to protect Pony no matter the circumstance. That right there would make Johnny a great friend to have.
Johnny’s bravery is a desirable trait that every friend should have. Just as he showed bravery in saving Ponyboy’s life he also showed bravery when he went in a burning church to save a bunch of kids lives. “Listen, I don't mind dying now. It's worth it. It's worth saving their kids.(Hinton )” This quote exemplifies Johnny’s bravery. He sacrificed his life in order to save the kids lives. Anybody would want a friend with unbelievable bravery in the face of danger. Johnny’s bravery is just another trait that makes me want him as a friend.
