Is it a valid pairing? Why or why not? How do they compare with one another? How could these books interact with one another?
I think that these two books were paired to represent the struggles in war and the life of a soldier. It was a fairly well pairing but, since we are currently in the Independence of america unit, it does not make much sense why All Quiet on the Western Front is in the book pair since it is not abut America’s independence.
The books do have some similarities and some differences. Johnny Tremain was a book 2about adventure and was more entertaining but, All Quiet on The Western Front was very boring and in some sections I was very uninterested. Just looking at the text, it looked like All Quiet on The Western Front was written and published before Johnny Tremain.
These books interact with each other by the theme of war. Johnny Tremain and the sons of liberty are fighting for independence against the British Redcoats and, in All Quiet on the Western Front, the Germans are fighting to win in World War 2.
