Johnny Cash inspires me to follow my one of my many dreams of becoming a country music star. His life story is the embodiment of the “American Dream” by, starting out as a poor farmer boy and then, becoming a country music star. He made a galore of mistakes but, he managed to grow from them and be a better man. Cash wrote songs about his experiences and what they taught him. For example, the song, I Walk the Line, was about Cash being brave and taking care of other people before anyone else by taking risks. Johnny Cash is a true musician.
He was born in 1932 in Kingsland, Arkansas and had 6 other siblings. He travailed on a farm with his family where Cash’s mother would sing folk songs that help inspired Cash’s future career in music. Cash graduated from High School in 1950 and began working in an auto plant in Detroit, Michigan. He later joined the US Air Force and met his future first wife, Vivian Liberto. After basic training was over, he left his girlfriend and was stationed all the way in Germany. He and Liberto wrote each other everyday making

He worked hard and eventually made it to the Billboard's number one hit song, I Walk the Line. Cash later went on tour and had 200 dates in different cities. All of the fame began taking control of Cash which leads to alcohol and drug abuse that destroyed his marriage. This was his lowest point in his life, he felt that he lost it all and he will never com back from this point. June Carter, Cash’s singing partner, managed to help Cash get his life back on track and focus on his music. He stayed away from drugs, alcohol and was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1980. To this day, Johnny Cash is one of the select few musicians to sell over ninety million records.
