This essay will discuss the life of John Wayne Gacy before his murders, during his murders and the ending result when he finally was convicted.
Now although there are a lot of things to say about John Wayne Gacy , there’s a lot of background information that may have led up to the cruel things he did. John Wayne Gacy was born on St.Patrick's day in 1942. He was the middle child; his older sister Joanne was born two years before him and his younger sister Karen who was born 2 years after. “To everyone who met him, John Wayne Gacy seemed a likeable and affable man. John Wayne Gacy was convicted of his first charge. He was brought up in front of a grand jury as a young teenage boy said “…Gacy had tricked him into being tied up while visiting gacy’s home and he had violently raped him.” (John wayne Gacy Biography). Than in the same year! Only 4 months later, He was convicted of hiring a young boy “18 years old named Dwight Anderson” to beat up Mark Miller. After that incident he was then sent , by the judge, to undergo a psychiatric evaluation to see if he would be well enough to go through with the trial. “Psychiatrists stated that he was an antisocial personality who would likely not benefit from any known medical treatments.” (John Wayne Gacy Biography). Soon after he was examined “Gacy entered a guilty plea to the charges.”(John Wayne Gacy Biography). Than when this happened he served 10 years in Iowa state reformatory.” He entered prison for the very first time at the age of 26, and on top of that his wife divorced him on the accounts that he betrayed their wedding vows. After he served his time , he moved in with his mother for a couple months trying to get back on track with his life and then he decided to move out thinking he could do it by himself. So he moved out and started to make friends at his new house with his neighbors Edward and Lilla Grexa, But they had no true idea of who their next door neighbor really was. “ Just a month before the Grexa had invited Gacy over for Christmas dinner, he had been charged with disorderly conduct for forcing a young boy, who he had picked up at the bus station, to perform sexual acts on him.” (John Wayne Gacy Biography).He was able to basically slip away from the court and get off scotch free. Now these types of cases went on for years and years and each time the court would just turn the other cheek and he eventually got smarter I guess you could say with how he would do things.
