John Wagner Scholarship Analysis

I believe I would benefit from the John Wagner scholarship opportunity, because I simply do not have the money to pay out of pocket. Semester after semester I have been trying to work while going to school to raise enough money to support my education. I did have financial aid but it was never enough to cover my entire tuition balance due to living out of district. After most semesters ended I was stuck gathering money to pay a balance I truly did not have the money for.
Sometime after that I lost my financial aid due to not being able to keep up with classes and having to constantly withdraw. As a personal reflection my biggest setback was trying to work to have enough money for my education. It was very difficult for me to work and try to go to rehearsals, attend class as well as practice daily. I knew then something needed to be cut but I needed to work to pay for school, which resulted in me not

Although I do not have money to afford school, I still love going to Moraine Valley. There is no other community college I would rather attend. The professors are not only knowledgeable but actually care about their students. There were times when all the support I had was from my professor. Even the ensembles here are fantastic and I would love to continue my education …show more content…
If I can attend classes at Moraine Valley this fall I would retake the classes I did not do so well in my last semester here. I would also take major lessons and play with the percussion ensemble again. Although I disappointed myself for not successfully completing my last semester at the college, if given the opportunity I would turn around the mistake I made. I would take advantage of the scholarship and it will help me get closer to my goals. I believe this time around I would be able to focus on my educational

With the assistance of the R.J. Hoyman Scholarship, I now know that I will be able to continue my education at Lane Community College this coming year. I am honored and extremely grateful to you for this amazing opportunity; knowing that I would inevitably be paying for hormones and surgery in my transition, I was afraid to dream of continuing my education. But, your support assures me that there are people who want to see LGBTQ+ folks like myself achieve their goals and dreams. For me college has not only helped me realize that, despite hardship, I do have a future to dream of but also that I can use my experience to help other folks in my community. Being a former high school dropout and continuing to higher education, I have been able to…

I chose to attend Wor-Wic Community College because of the support system that Wor-Wic has to offer. I applied to the school and attended it while I was injured with a traumatic knee injury and the staff really proved to me that they cared. I had surgery the first week of classes,so I emailed my teacher and they were all understanding and extremely helpful in accommodating to my needs. The late computer lab hours really helped me to be able to get my school work done after my night classes ended. Everywhere that I go I advocate for Wor-Wic because it is truly more than an institution, it is like another family to me.…

Well it has been almost 4 months that I have been attending Roanoke Valley Early College. I love it here and I don’t see how anyone couldn’t. So far I have learned a lot about school. By taking time to observe my surroundings and everyone around me, I have learned that everyone in high school is not your friend and that I am learning how to sense a bad vibe before I let anyone get too close to me. RVEC is the only school that has taught me that all teachers are not these people that hate their job because the teachers here including the ones I don’t take yet are always showing us that they really want to be there and help us and teach us.…

Receiving this scholarship would help me in more ways than one. This scholarship would help my family and I pay for the expenses of my books and my tuition, this way I would not be stressed during my studies of how I will be able to pay for all of my schooling. Any form of money that I can receive will be significantly beneficial. Being a recipient I would use this money to put towards my degree in Occupational Therapy, where I will be helping kids with disabilities learn the basic day to day living skills. After graduation, I will be attending East Central College to get my general courses out of the way, while taking classes that will help me in my future career.…

I was eager for more traditional academic rigor in college, but also wanted a place where I would feel comfortable. Marlboro College offered the rigorous liberal arts education I was looking for, in a community of fewer than 200 students. It is located in rural Vermont, which is culturally similar to my hometown. The small community meant it was easier to make friends, and the surrounding area reflected many of my values. My decision to go there was coming from a place of self-care, and I…

There are a few reasons why I decided to attend a community college. First, I knew that if went to a community college, my financial aid will cover my tuition and fees. The second reason is that this community college is 15 minutes far away from my home and that really worked for me because I wasn't prepared at that time to leave my family behind. I know that I made the right decision because I'm getting the same education that other colleges and universities offer, but less expensive. The third reason is that I love small classes because I get to have a really good connection with my professors and my classmates and for me that is really important.…

I would love to attend Archbishop Mitty High School because of all the wonderful things I experienced during 7th day, shadowing, and open house. My parents helped with the costs of attending college as well as supporting me when my studies became difficult. I sought out the advice of an adviser who I have been working with for the past three years.…

Much earlier in my studies, I have surmounted tremendous hardship which caused me to drop out of college. I have migrated to America in the early 2000s with my family seeking a better life because my country did not have much to offer.…
