Introduction
This Biographical study of John the Baptist will closely look at the life of John the Baptist, his teachings, birth and childhood, ministry, and death. John the Baptist as a preacher and his teachings of the nearness of God's final Judgment. He advised people to turn from their wicked ways and baptized them in the name of the Lord. John was the first to recognized Jesus as the Messiah, the King of the Jews (John 1:29). All the four Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John), the Acts of the Apostles, comprises the only point of information about the life of John the Baptist.

John did not remain silent and spoke out about the King breaking God’s law by marrying his half-brother’s wife. He also denunciated the king adulterous and incestuous wife Herodias, who was also the wife of his half-brother Philip. Because of the denunciation, Antipas arrested John and imprisoned him at Machaerus Fortress, which was located on the Dead Sea (Luke 3:18-20). Also, Herodias was angry and upset by the condemnation too. So, Herodias had her daughter, Salome, performed a dance for Antipas, which impressed him, and he vowed to grant her any wish. Herodias instigated her daughter, Salome to ask for the head of John the Baptist (Matt. 14:1-12).
