The book, " Bridges Not Walls" by John Stewart (2012), helped me to have a better understanding of identity, and that identities are multifaceted and changes with time (Stewart, 2012). Stewart (2012) helped me to understand that my identity is in large part a result of past and present relationships, and communications with other people. After reading the course material and watching the presentations, I reflected back to when I became saved. "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come" (2 Corinthians 5:17, English Standard Version). I realized that my new relationship with God did result in changes to my identity.
