The story that we read is “Of Mice and Men" by John Steinbeck. The story is about migrant workers who are friends, their names are George and Lennie. Lennie is big and strong, but also caring and gentle which makes readers sympathize for him. Lenny is caring. He cares for the people he meets and the animals as well. When George and Lennie are by the river, Lennie finds a dead mouse and wants to pet it. In the text, Lennie says “I could pet it with my thumb while we walked along.” (Page 6.) He just wanted to pet the mouse because it was soft and he cared for it. Since Lenny cares for others, it helps him and hurts him in certain situations. Lenny is not very bright, so he was laughing when he was in the bunkhouse with Curley and the others.
