There were many great characters in the book Time Enough For Drums. The most interesting character was John Reid. John was a different character from the others because he was friendly, caring, and bossy. Throughout the story Johns friendliness, caring, and bossiness helps him make his wife smarter and have better manners then she had. John is a friendly character who stays true to all his friends. In the beginning of the story a girl named Jemima that he tutors hates him. But by the end of the story he is very nice and friendly to her that she starts to like him. When John was at war and Jem was all alone she said “I was lonely and would have preferred Reid’s stern presence to the silence in the room”(Rinaldi 85). As shown Reid is a good
