John Quincy Adams, the sixth president of the United States, once stated that "if your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader." Leadership is more than directing a person or group of people; leadership is guiding others and becoming a role model for others in a way that gives inspiration. Honorably, I was given the chance to participate on a Leadership team at Iron Dragon Fitness and Self Defense, the martial arts school which I attended for several years in my hometown. Week after week, I learned ways to improve my leadership skills by participating as an assistant during classes, helping lower belt students to improve their martial art skills.
