(The forest, where unnatural things have supposedly been happening)
At the edge of the forest Abigail has called on John Proctor to come and meet with her. It is late at night and John should be home, but for some reason he has came to the forest. He asks Abigail why he has come and she says she has called for him. She looks at him in an enchanting way. Anything that Abigail says Proctor does. Abigail is trying to make John Proctor join her on the dark side.
Abigail (Looking at John seductively). Thank you John for coming.
Proctor. I only come to see what it is that you want.
Abigail. You come John because I call for you. Come with me John into the forest, won’t you please.
Proctor. Only for a moment Abigail.
Abigail (slowly walking into the forest, Abigail begins to dance and makes John also). Gah! John I almost forgotten how good of a dancer you were.

Tituba (peeking behind the trees, sees Abigail and Proctor kissing). Abby! What it be going on here!
Abigail. (frightened) Oh Tituba please don’t tell anyone.
Proctor. (angry) Abigail what did you do!
Tituba. (shocked and angry) Abby, you said you not bring no one else here!
Abigail. (crying) I just want John to love me as he do Elizabeth.
Proctor. I have done told you child. Elizabeth is my wife and there will be no more of this.
Abigail. You didn’t think that all the other times.
Tituba. You make him forget this now.
Proctor. (with a bitter anger) You will not tell anyone about this! I am with my wife and I love her, not you Abigail. You have the devil in your heart Abigail and soon it will come for all of you.
Abigail. (strongly angered and certain) I will get you John for this. Elizabeth will be no more when I am done! You are mine and I will make sure of that!
Tituba. (scared) Go Mr. Proctor
