John proctor is somewhat a hero. Due to his confessions him and whomever was hanged with him, hanged with pride. They committed a sin, but turned out to be innocent. They were in God’s hands when they died. He was a hero because even though he did commit a sin he opened up the town's people's eyes and the judges eyes to who Abigail really was. “I have known her”(947). He failed God for sinning, and he failed his sons by committing a sin and not confessing sooner to save his life. His strengths are that even though he ends up dying he knew what was lawful and what wasn't. Though he did commit adultery, he was able to confess to the court about his crime. His weaknesses and strengths bring him into conflict with characters by him not being able to say names or speak about others sins.
