Have you ever been accused of something you have not done? Well if you have it probably is not being accused of being a witch and hung or burned to death because of it. That is what was happening in Salem Massachusetts, John Proctor lives just a little out of the town. John first hear’s about people being accused of being witches and says people are crazy and have gone mad. John was a very hard working guy he was always working out in a field. John is all about his name and what people think of him. Well he had an affair on his wife with Abigail Williams one of their servants. John Proctor lied a lot and like I said just cared about his name. John acted like he was a good guy and never told anybody about him and Abigail because that is a huge sin. One time John kept hearing about the witchcraft he knew abigail was behind it. He also heard his wife’s name was talked about in court. …show more content…
John used to act like he was a good honest man. But then someone accused his wife of being a witch and he knew exactly who it was. It was abigail she wanted to be with John and she hated his wife. He encountered abigail and said he would “cut his hand off before he reached for her again.” The court then arrested John’s wife and he knew he would have to confess to what he has done. John said he was “known abigail” which in another words means have sex. Throughout the time you can see him change as a person because all he is going through. What really caused him to change was when they took his wife he wasn't going to let her died because he slept with abigail and abby is jealous of Elizabeth his wife. Also the court was questioning his wife and john says in front of everybody in the town “God is dead”! That is when you can tell he is breaking
