John Proctor: A True Hero

According to Anna Di Fina, nobody achieves anything when the task is simple. One has to struggle to obtain one's needs. Life isnt simple it’s a path with some hills in the way. Some small and some are almost impossible to climb. One who is a hero doesn’t give up, he digs through the pain of life to achieve their goals. In the play, The Crucible by ….., is based of the hangings of witches in Salem. Many were hung for crimes that they didn’t commit, some were arrested and thrown into jail. One character named John Proctor was one of many that was hanged for the crime of witchcraft. Proctor’s heroic action made him a hero in the story because not only did he take responsibly of his own actions but he took his life. Proctor wanted to clear the whole situation out about witchcraft. Even though, Proctor tried to stop the hanging but his goal was to save his wife who was accused for witchcraft. Proctor had an affair with a girl named Abigail who is acting like she and the other girls are seeing the devil's spirits. In order to save his relationship with his wife, Elizabeth Proctor, Proctor had to end the affair with Abigail. As a consequence, Proctor had to tell the court that he had an affair with Abigail in order to save his wife to be hanged. Even though proctor failed at saving his wife since the wife was not aware that he had confessed and did not want to ruin Proctor's name. Elizabeth was not released but at least Proctor had gotten his sin off of this chest. In conclusion, Proctor had convicted of witchcraft by Mary Warren and was arrested. Proctor did not want to confess to witchcraft to save his life. His mission was to become a truthful and a good man and the consequence of not confessing was
