The story of John Newton is truly the story behind ‘Amazing Grace’. One would find it difficult to believe, let alone to live, a blasphemous life that equalled Newton’s early years.
In his youth, he became the captain of a slave ship, landing at least one load of human cargo in Charleston, South Carolina. Know that some of the best motives of faith are made out of gratitude to God for His grace and tender mercies. If we do not appreciate grace, how can we enjoy God or thank God?
This makes it crucial that we fully understand grace, and understand how it can be undermined in our lives. The New Testament shows us that Paul is absolutely clear that the gospel is simply grace. Anything else does not merely fall short of the full gospel; it is actually opposed to it.
A deep sense of overwhelming gratitude, humility and thankfulness floods me each time I think of grace. The deeper I get to know and experience God, it becomes clear to me that all that I am, all that I ever have been and all that I ever will be is solely the result of God's awesome grace
When we go about every day ‘flavouring’ grace, being conscious of grace, and enjoying grace, we are moved to a greater appreciation of God.
Flavouring grace will nourish your spirit. Spend some time each day flavouring
