Even though John said that “He didn’t like much about people and people didn’t like him,” yet that hadn’t stopped Charles from being close friends with Nash and later influenced him to stop overworking and drink alcohol with him and eat pizza, although John wasn’t a fan of pizza at all. When Charles saw the frustrations in his friend, he threw away the work table, papers and all the math materials out of the window, and they both shouted at pedestrian walking underneath their building.
John Nash was a vivid of mathematics, which lead to him having hallucinations and seeing images that weren’t there. Nash was very successful and his life turned upside down overnight. The illusions he saw made him feel like he was part of much more than himself, he thought he was saving the world. Nash then discovered the medications, and concluded that the facility was the main problem in his illness. He then asked his wife to help him escape. Alicia was a loving, amazing, patient and most of all, caring woman. She didn’t turn her back on him, she helped him, invited him to come over her house and live with her. Nash dressed up and held clipboard every morning. He sat in front of her door, where he thought his office was, he worked until he regained his memories little by little.
My perceptions of this movie was confused until john regain his memories and began recovering slowly. It was very fascinating how watching someone you love suffer so severely, Alicia could stand right next her husband through every step of the struggle. I think, mainly, during the recovery of John, Alicia was a huge role in his success. She invited students to come over and talk about the legacy of Nash’s books and stories, and that made John alive once again.
