In the movie this could be seen when he spoke to the lady who slapped him and walked out on him. He also had a dysfunctional thoughts and emotions which interfered with his life this was made him not to enjoy his college life or even adapt to his environment. Lastly he was distressful leading him to anxiety he was stressed that he was not going to come up with a formula of his own this was why he hit his head on the window because he was stressed. The imaginary private mission he had also made him stressed out he was always stressed that if he let things out it might hurt his family so all these thoughts got him stressed this was why he told his wife to go to her sister’s place to stay safe there without any explanation to his wife.
