He supports his claims with facts and data, showing that his ideas have a back up to real examples and are not just personal thoughts. Language being an essential word in his thesis, he decides to not only give current examples but historical ones, such as the passage from “The Decline and Fall of The Roman Empire” and other examples throughout the presentation. These proofs have a big impact on persuading his audience to the idea about this new language created by texting. There were a few characteristics of another technique of inducement, called Pathos. He clearly revolves around the audience’s fear of loss and the acceptance from them. The linguistic mentions that texting is not considered a written language; therefore it is not diminishing literacy from today’s generations. He seeks to attest his audience’s fear is something they should not be that much concerned about, and states that values change as generations change. Every thing he says, goes around his main idea, which is very important to display to the audience that all the facts he mentions are
