The guest speaker was John McKeegan, who is advisor to the President and general counsel at Linfield College since 2010. Before coming to Linfield, he spent 20 years as a civil privet practice attorney. Mr. McKeegan graduated Buckwell University in Virginia with a bachelor’s degree. He went on to Notre Dame Law School in 1987 and graduated with a doctorate in law. Mr. McKeegan became a bared certified lawyer in Arizona. He specializes in general practice, which includes working with employees, insurance companies and contract work. The guest speaker spoke about legal issues we could face as certified athletic trainers. We learned different ways to protect ourselves from the possibility of being sued by patients or athletes.
