people find the direction and purpose God wants for their life. The author addresses some key
issues in the book. These include: people not knowing where to go to find God’s will, going the
wrong direction to find God’s will, and/or not wanting to know God’s will because of fear

MacArthur gives us five main points to help
individuals (complex expression) on this journey.
To know God’s will, one must be: (passive)saved, spirit-filled, holy, submissive, and willing to
suffer. To do God’s will, one has to have a relationship with Jesus. “We are the vehicles for the
transportation of the gospel” (Found: God’s Will, 18). To be spirit-filled is to live every moment
as if you are standing next to Jesus. Every believer has the Holy Spirit. It is sad how many
people do not think they have him. God communicates to us in many ways but mostly through
His word. Knowing the Word of God is vitally important in the Christian walk. According to
MacArthur, God’s will is very explicit in scripture. With Jesus, we can do the extraordinary. It is
God’s will that we be sanctified. In other words, God wants us to live a life that is holy, purified,
and set apart. We are called (passive)to submit to authority. This isn’t only to God, but also to your
government, family, church, and workplace
