John Locke was born on August 29, 1632 in Wrington, Somerset, England.
As a child, he spent his time in the West Country but as he became a teenager, he was sent to go to Westminster School in London.

At Westminster School, John Locke was named a King’s scholar and this was an honor so he earned his way to attend Christ Church, University of Oxford.
