John’s issues with his father dates back to John’s early childhood. Alfred was never a part of his sons everyday life, instead he was traveling around the world on different ships and somehow finding trouble at each stop. Right off the bat Alfred is not around much, in turn this causes Alfred’s wrongdoings to seriously stack up. This is especially true when Alfred thought he had no other choice, but to abduct John and almost send him to New Zealand with some friends parents. Then, to make matters even worse, Alfred forces six-year-old John to choose between either going with Julia or staying with him. Poor little John did not know what to do, “John went to [Alfred] and took his hand; then, as Julia turned away again, he panicked and ran after her, shouting to her to wait and to his father to come, too. But, paralyzed once more by fatalistic self-pity, [Alfred] remained rooted in his chair.”(21). This is the moment where Alfred walked out of John’s life for a very long time. This is obviously very damaging to such a young child and would cause Alfred to do a lot of work to be able to talk to his son again. Alfred did not really reappear until John and the rest of The Beatles became famous. Once again, he made a poor choice and waited that long to try to reach out to John. There were different times where they talked and their relationship seemed alright, but the truth is that
