My ENTJ Personality

From taking the Jung Personality Test, the results indicate that I have an ENTJ type of personality. I am “moderately preferred” to Extrovert and Intuition, I am “barely preferable” to Thinking as opposed to Feeling, and I am “marginally more” inclined to Judging than Perceiving. Extroversion “is one who prefers to deal with the world outside of oneself.” Intuition “is one who sees the big picture and thinks more about the future implications of an action.” Thinking “is one who judges their decisions off of research and reasoning.” Judging “is one who has a rigid, strict set of methods on how one accomplishes tasks.” My ENTJ personality has been shown throughout my whole personal and professional life. The only time when I conversed with strangers, in the most friendliness of attitudes, was at my jobs dealing with customer service. These experiences permeated through other spheres in my life. Currently I am a supervisor for a firm where I have to communicate, a daily basis, with co-workers and my subordinates. My leadership skills must be on display to ensure projects are completed in the most correct and efficient way. As a supervisor, it is imperative that one displays the personality of an extrovert even if they are naturally an introvert. “Extroverts as stated before are much more engaged with the outside world than their counterparts.” They are naturally in tune with their personalities, which will make them much more effective managers. A study performed evaluating the difference between Extrovert and Introvert EFL Teachers’ Classroom management highlights this; “the results were that the extroverts were better at managing than their introvert counterparts” (Jalili &Mall-Amiri, 2015). aGood use of a reference-but check the need for a page or paragraph (if an online source) number in direct …show more content…
Emotions may cloud the judgment, preventing one from making the right decision. Even if the decision is bitter at the beginning, that decision could be a great benefit to many as a result. However, it is important to also maintain a feeling preference; sometimes, a leader needs to use their instincts to apply the best decision. For example, coming from a Christian background, the celebration of a holiday relating to one’s faith is important in my view. I need to respect a person’s belief structure, because “that structure serves as the foundation that guides them to make the best decisions in their life’s journey.” (Blach, Dr. David; A Worldview Perspective on Organizational Behavior; BMAL 500 Audio Lecture Series; 2015) That is why I am more inclined to give a specific person their holiday off from work, despite me having to change other components of the office to accommodate that person’s absence. Good personal

Every personality type is different in a work environment. ENFPs, like myself are the “inspirers” according to Psychology Junkie. We are very outgoing, gregarious, hedonistic when being motivated by our desires, and we have a certain panache when it comes to connecting with people. The authors of Type Talk, Otto Kroeger and Janet Thueson state that extroverts “think out loud; they clarify their ideas by sharing them with others, refining them as they speak”.…

Being an introverted leader I must have time for myself. I enjoy getting to work before everyone else, which allows me to red my word for the day (daily spiritual readings). In The Introverted Leader, Jennifer B. Kahnweiler has generated a handbook for understanding the trials and opportunities introverted leaders face daily, as well as a proven four-part process for handling one’s own introversion and understanding the introversion of employees and coworkers. Kahnweiler trusts that it is possible to capitalize on a softer, more thoughtful behavior and still become accustomed to a culture that rewards extroversion. Judging and perceiving describe one’s orientation to life, which is either structured and deliberate or adaptive and spontaneous (p. 42). The judger is a valid personality preference for me because I prefer structure and order when it involves making decisions and accomplishing tasks. Being deliberate and intentional is helpful in both my professional and personal life, but change can be unwelcomed at times. However, if I understand why something new is being implemented, I can readily adapt in order to support the new decision and direction.…

Not everyone is good with change, a few don’t really know how to fully come to grips with certain situations they encounter, while others can easily adapt to change. Extroverts know how to accept and adapt to change they probably don’t like change, but they are positive individuals and know that in the end things will work out for them. Introverts on the other hand, hate change and don’t always know how to adapt. Introverts overthink everything, so they start to question things and begin wonder why things have to changed, or if these changes are for better or worst. They're not as positive as extroverts when it comes to change; it all takes time with them to adjust to any kind of change.…
