I agree with Mr. Flynn’s argument that we spend or have spent more money to fight a war in Iraq that I feel we had no business being there than we spent to protect our own seaports. The United States offers our enemies a vast menu of soft targets: water and food supplies; chemical plants; bridges, tunnels, and most important ports. Stephen Flynn suggests that several measures that were developed to protect the vital system named above are hardly fit to deter amateur thieves, smugglers, and let alone determined terrorists (Flynn,…

Sam Brownback has made some mistakes as Governor which has the people of Kansas not like him on whether he should be reelected or not. Over time people have begun to dislike him as governor. He has had trouble solving the problems Kansas is facing right now; with the budget, tax cuts, and other major problems. He has shown that he is not able to be the governor of Kansas if he can not show that he can fix problems that are happening in Kansas. Bush managed to appear tough on issues and successfully interject himself into the debate a few times, a feat he has consistently struggled to accomplish. Kasich stole Rubio’s mantle of hopeful conservatism and hammered home his image of bipartisan dealmaker, an appealing path in New Hampshire, where Independents can vote in the primary and moderates abound. Christie,…

The presidential election is coming up in November, many must decide, like myself, who will lead the United States of America for the next four or more years. After careful consideration, I would vote for Jeb Bush because he has had previous successful leadership experiences and has proposed effective platforms like advocating for common core in education, pro-life, and protecting the Second Amendment. Jeb Bush is different from all the other candidates because he has had previous political experiences. He first entered the political arena and served the country as the Secretary of Commerce in 1986.…

    Ohio Abortion Letter

This letter addresses the issue of abortion in Ohio. In December, Governor John Kasich approved the twenty-week limit on legal abortion. Due to President Trump’s recent entrance into office, many lawmakers are encouraging the passage of stricter abortion bills such as House Bill 69. However, while both sides of the abortion debate possess merit, the purpose of this letter is to elaborate, or at least introduce, the select arguments of a pro-choice supporter. Governor John Kasich vetoed House Bill 69 due to the fact that its passage would violate the precedent set by the Supreme Court case Roe v. Wade, which protects abortion so far as it acts in the interest of the woman’s health and possibility of human life.…

The founding fathers of the United States never intended for the nation to be dominated by two political parties. However, over the years, the nation has become a modern two-party system, where the Republican and Democratic parties have dominated American politics. Initially, the views and issues of the Republican Party was originally the same views shared by the early democratic party. The early Democratic Party possessed conservative ideologies which opposed expansion of federal power, supported states’ rights and supported discriminatory Black codes. While the Republican Party were quite liberal and supported the expansion of federal power, civil rights movement and desegregation of schools.…

Planned Parenthood is an abortion king. They perform more abortions than anything or anyone else. That might have triggered John Kyl to say “ 90% of what Planned Parenthood does is abortions.” Statements similar to these are important because it isn’t a passable offense when elected officials would lie to Americans. That is what this statement is.…

In my opinion, Donald Trump won the first presidential debate. His best moments were at the beginning as he described a worn down United States, taken advantage of by other countries and torn apart by its own government. His commitment was to hold these people responsible at home and abroad and get tough on anyone who opposed him. Some of the most important statements he made was that he is going to get jobs back into America and re-negotiate our trade deals so we aren’t getting screwed over by people like China. I liked what he had to say to Hillary Clinton: “For 30 years, you've been doing it, and now you're just starting to think of solutions.”…

Trump opposes abortion. Trump stated that he supports a woman's right to choose, but strongly disagrees when they make the decision to have an abortion (Ballotpedia). “Trump also plans on signing into law the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act and making the Hyde Amendment permanent law” (Ballotpedia). Trump’s decisions are all correct and they need to be put into effect. The Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act should be made a law because it would prevent a mother from having an abortion after twenty weeks because the fetus would be capable of feeling pain.…

Pro-life politicians have been diligently working against the pro-choice politicians by pushing outrageous abortion laws such as the Heartbeat Bill. This bill states; It will be illegal for a woman to have an abortion after a fetus's heartbeat is detected under the assumption a fetus is a person after it has a heartbeat. This particular attempt has been shut down because John Kasich, the Republican governor of Ohio, vetoed the bill. This act, in turn, protected the rights of countless women to do what they choose, without the…

“Make America Great Again.” That is the slogan a man ran on as he somehow captured the attention and the vote of millions of American citizens. That false hope convinced the country that somehow the progression the country had made in the past eight years was not great and that we had to “take back America.” Through all the debates, interviews, conventions and campaign rallies this slogan reached so many and no one thought to ever question it. No one ever thought to ever ask the question of not how he planned to make America great again, but rather who he planned to make it great for again.…
