John Glenn: How Being In Space Affect Older People

John Glenn was born on July 18,1921 in Cambridge, Ohio.He was in college when WW3 started, so he left school to join the fight in the war. In the military, Glenn was a Marine pilot and trained other pilots.Also he fought in the Korean War. After the Korean War he became an airplane test pilot.

In 1957, Glenn set a speed record in less than 3 1/2 hours.In 1962, he was the first American to orbit the Earth. In 1959, he was one out of the seven astronauts who would fly on the Mercury spacecraft.

After leaving NASA, Glenn decided to become the U.S senator for the state of Ohio. He was Senator for 25 years. In 1998, John Glenn got to fly one last time. This flight was used to experiment and see how being in space affect older people. Which made
