When people started to see it on the news mobs of people came very mad and started to throw bricks at officers and some even had guns. Kennedy sent 100 more officers to back them up. The troops could not shoot so they used tear gas to calm down the mobs. After all of the fighting was over and everyone was settled down 2 people dead, 160 injured, 28 troops were shot by people in the crowd. He started school and graduated in the 1963, he was active in the local civil rights efforts. He also started a walk from Memphis to Jackson in the 1966. On the second day of the march James was shot by a sniper, luckily he rejoined on June 24th.
