I have certainly learned a lot of different things from reading this book. My knowledge was definitely broadened throughout reading it. I learned a lot about John F. Kennedy, his wife, his family and the people surrounding him. I learned about the events leading up to Kennedy’s death. Including the Bay of Pigs, Cuban Missile Crisis, and the Civil Rights Movement(talked about above). Something else that occurred during Kennedy 's term that was a difficult thing to go through was Jackie and John losing their baby, Patrick after birth. In 1963, the president and his wife announced they were expecting their third child. A few months later, Jackie and the two children were on vacation in Cape Cod, Massachusetts. Although, John F. Kennedy died before they were even able to make it to the hospital. “So let the record state, once and for all, that at 12:30pm on a sunny Friday afternoon in Dallas, Texas, John Fitzgerald Kennedy is shot dead in less time than it takes to blink an eye. He leaves behind a beautiful widow. He leaves behind two adoring young children. He leaves behind a nation that loves him” (O’Reilly Bill, Dugard Martin 269). There are many different theories that people have come up with over the years. Such as, Lee Harvey Oswald didn 't work alone in the assassination, the CIA did it, the mafia, the soviets or even that Lyndon Johnson was behind Kennedy 's
