John F. Kennedy was born on May 29, 1917, in Brookline, Massachusetts. He was one of nine children. were one of the first two people to start advocating everyone's civil rights. From 1955 to 1956, Martin Luther King Jr. led a boycott that ended segregated busses in Montgomery, Alabama. After this took place, Brown vs. Board of Education took place in 1954, when James T. Brown sued the Board of Education ("Civil Rights Movement - John F. Kennedy Library and Museum."). Brown thought schools should not be segregated. Then in 1957, segregation, very slowly, started to fade out of schools. In that same year, President Eisenhower ordered National Guard troops to enforce desegregation of Little Rock. In 1960, a famous picture and a part of American History took place. Four black students sat at the counter at Woolworth’s and asked to be served. When they were denied service, the students sat there until they were served. In the next few months, over 50,000 people joined in the protests. Two years later, JFK and his brother escorted the first black student to enroll at a formerly white school.
