I. John F. Kennedy was one of the most influential presidents of the United States, since he was very committed to the space program, he was dedicated to the first Freedom Rides to stop segregation and he cut taxes and oil bills.
II. Kennedy was very committed to the space program.
A. His goal was to put a man on the moon
1. Wanted everyone to donate money to help
2. Address the challenge to the congress
3. Delivered a speech about the effort to reach the moon and the process
B. He made a pledge in April to launch shuttles safely into space
1. Ask for 7 billion to 9 billion dollars to fund the space program
2. Did get some credit for the space landing
3. Argued with the Pikita Khrushchew
