He was the president during the years 1961 through 1963 and was later assassinated. During JFK’s presidency many historical events occurred; to name a few- the creation of the Peace Corps, Bay of Pigs Invasion, and the Civil Rights Movement. JFK was one of the best presidents to serve the nation. Kennedy made sure everyone is equal and focused on making the U.S. a better place for people who tend to have disabilities or other revolving issues. John F. Kennedy has done a significant amount of work to make America a better place. In Document E, it shows a graph where the GPD per Capita starts growing faster while JFK was the president. He played a major part in the economy growing during the 1960’s. After Kennedy passed, Johnson picked up where he left off and continued the growth. Another area Kennedy worked on was the way American citizens lived. He developed the idea of the New Frontier which targeted areas in the poverty levels, increasing educational aid, tax cuts, raising minimum wage, and much more. He worked hard to give the nation an easier and better life. President Kennedy was considered a great president, but that doesn’t mean he didn’t make mistakes. One of his faults was the Berlin Wall. In Doc K, he states the wall is to show how it feels to be stuck in a communist country. He goes on to say if something isn’t done then the people trapped on the other side of the wall will continue to be stuck in communist control.
