One of the guests, theoretical physicist and cosmologist and auto-proclaimed atheist, Lawrence M. Krauss made several claims which seemed have to been intended to disprove the importance of religion in society and ridiculed the Christian faith in particular. He commented that religious ethics have no impact upon science. Moreover, he claimed that whenever the Church tried to intrude upon science it almost always got it wrong. He also added that science can offer a better and more ethical world. To these claims, Dr John responded saying that human beings can produce an ethic, not science and that people have the power to decide whether to use science positively or negatively according their worldview. Furthermore, Dickson says that probably Christianity, is in part responsible for the flourishment of science. He finishes his first round of comments stating that scientists should be let do the science and believers do what they do. This book, along with other two were being used by scripture teachers in Special Religious Education classes in state schools, when in 2015 after receiving complaints from the Parent lobby group Fairness in Religion in Schools, the three books were initially banned by the Minister for Education, Adrian Piccoli for concerns they were in breach of legislation. The same group commented against one book in particular, saying ‘it contained dangerous anti-gay and anti-divorce messages’. (Wood 2015).
