Thanks for asking Mark. I must say my opinion is a bit biased as I have worked with John Davis for the past eleven almost twelve years. John has an extensive background in investigations and he is well educated in the law enforcement field. During his current term as Sheriff, he has been a working Sheriff who will dawn the uniform and work just as any of his staff will. One thing about is his door is always open and he is available to his staff as well as the public whether they come to him with an issue or if he has to go the citizen to listen to their concern. John is a fair and honest man as well as a law enforcement officer. He will cover anything up or do favors for anyone. I’m sure you heard of the recent investigator that was …show more content…
When John found out about he immediately called in OSBI to conduct an investigation. John has worked and continues to work in all the positions within the office, whether it is helping with patrol, investigation, special events, or issues at the jail or juvenile center. As for Sam McReynolds, I know this is his third or fourth time running for Sheriff. He last against former Sheriff Toliver once I know for sure of and lost in the primary against John. When he ran against Toliver he ran as a Democrat, and switched parties when he ran against John. Sam’s campaign manger is his mouth piece so to say. I really never seen or heard Sam much it was always and is currently his campaign manger. Sam’s big platform is inmate work crews, community workers, and sentencing inmates to rehab programs. This all sounds good but in reality is not that feasible. In order for work crews you have to have that staff. Law enforcement is understaffed everywhere, his plan is to use reserve officers to supervise these crews. The thing about most of our current reserve staff is they are working men and women, with full time jobs during the day. I personally would rather see our deputies patrolling the county.
