Who was John D. Rockefeller? John Davison Rockefeller was a very intelligent businessman. He started learning at a young age about business. He was also generous. John D. Rockefeller donated millions of dollars of his own money to charities. He also helped fund for universities and many more things. John D. Rockefeller was one of the most generous and intelligent businessman in the United States. John D. Rockefeller was born in the town of Richford, New York. Rockefeller was a very generous person, for a wealthy businessman. He wanted to start a university that was religious to the baptist faith. John D. Rockefeller founded the university of Chicago, which is one of the best universities as of today. John D. Rockefeller donated as much as $45 million to the university. He referred to it as “the best investment I ever made.” As John D. Rockefeller’s generosity kept growing, it shows everyone that thinks that he is “greedy”, the real person John D. Rockefeller actually was. Next, John D. Rockefeller gave lots of his money to different charities and organizations. John D. Rockefeller started his own charity called “The Rockefeller Foundation.” He donated a total of $182, 851, 481 of his own money to his charity. His charity plans to help the well-being of humanity around the world, and still does today. Everyone thinks of a businessman as a “greedy” or “selfish” person. John D. Rockefeller was the exact opposite. He has donated millions of dollars of his money to different charities and organizations. John D. Rockefeller is a generous person because he donated millions of dollars to things that were close to his
