This past summer, I attended John Hopkins’ Intensive studies program. CTY was 3 weeks long and had kids ranging from 12 years old to 16 years old. The first week exhausted everyone. Each person had back to back classes and the non-stop extracurricular activities. However, the camp was still characterized by its abundance of merriment. During those three weeks, I had a roommate, Dani, who came to the program from France. Our friendship came about instantly. Her birthday was the last day of camp, so my hall mate, Sarah, and I decided to throw her a mini birthday party after night classes.
