THE BEGINNING
Hi my name is Cyril. I recently joined the explorer John Cabot. Today, I got informed that we are going to explore more of the world. The reason is John Cabot wants to find a Northern route to Asia.

Packing Up
Wow, it’s been three days since I wrote in here. I am with Explorer John Cabot and have everything ready. We got lots of beans and corn for food. Bow and arrows for weapons. Pickaxes and axes for tools.

Boarding Ship
We are going onto the ship named “Matthew”. About twenty people are boarding. It is pretty small, but it can carry a lot.

May 2, 1497
We are finally leaving. Everyone is excited. To be honest I am kind of scared because this is my first time riding a boat.

We took the risk and chose to explore it. Cabot and I think it is a very quick route to Asia.

June 30, 1497
We explored the land and figured out it wasn’t Asia. We claimed this land right away for Henry Hudson who had sponsored this trip.
July 4, 1497
We already started going back to Bristol. We are running out of medicine and food which is a big problem.

July 6, 1497
We have an explorer that is very sick. We gave him our last plant medicine. Hopefully nobody else gets sick.

July 20, 1497
We are next to another boat right now. They started shooting arrows at us, so we decided to shoot back.

July 27, 1497
Only one person got hurt. We are also close to home island.

BACK AT Bristol
We just arrived back at Bristol. We see people cheering for being brave enough to go on that expedition. I learned a lot from this expedition. I got braver from the beginning. In the beginning, I was scared of the water. However, now that I actually stayed in the water for lots of days, I am not scared anymore. All of the 20 explorers are very happy that we made it back safely.

Benefits
I think the world will benefit from this a lot because now the world knows about that land and people could start living
