Abstract
There are various individuals who have carried out various kinds of efforts in the field of economics. One of the individuals who have been involved in making efforts in the field of economics is John Buchanan. Here, discussion shall be regarding the efforts made by the individual in the field of economics and the areas which have been taken into consideration by him over the period of time regarding the field of economics.

He has mentioned that constitution has been created for various generations. Constitution is to be adopted by various people around the world across various generations. This shows that constitution is very important. Any kind of alteration of change in constitution is not likely to take place in an easy and quick manner. Constitution should be formed in such a manner that it is able to have balance in interests of state society and each individual. Constitution should not be of such kind that it causes some kind of trouble for the individual at a particular point of time. In the course of constitution, it has been provided that, the individual should be able to follow the rules and live the life in a safe manner. There are certain other points which are to be considered for James Buchanan. First point is that, James Buchanan is a quasi member of Austrian school of economics. He was not formally associated with the school but he was involved in sharing various common beliefs regarding the school. The award was given to him for doing efforts in the field of development of contractual and constitutional bases for theory of economic and political decision making. This shows that he was involved in doing various kinds of work (Tollison & Kliemt, 2002). His work was recognized by the country and due to the recognition of his work; he was given the award in the form of Noble Prize. The contributions of the individual are at a higher level and it shows that the contribution of the individual cannot be ignored.
Positions Held The individual has also been involved in holding various positions in the organizational activities. He had become first director at center for Study of Public Choice in year 1969. He was also given the position of president of Southern Economic Association in year 1963. In year 1983, he took the position of president of Western Economic Association. He was also given the position of Vice President of American Economic Association in year 1971.
