A hero, according to Merriam-Webster, is a person who is admired for great or brave acts or fine qualities. Despite this novel not being one of action or adventure, it takes its own definition of a hero due to the main character, John. By his actions within the novel, I will prove that John shows the qualities of selflessness, courage, and humility. True heroes put others ahead of them, without an expectation of payback or self-gratification.
