According to scripture in the book of Psalms, it says, “And my God. My soul is cast down within mel therefore I remember you from the land of Jordan and of Hermon, from Mount Mizar” (Psalm 42: 6, ESV). So according to this verse, Hermon was retrieving and searching for the Jordan river. Knowing this, it is said that the Jordan river overflowing in all the banks, so there was always water and the people would never run including during the harvest time (Joshua 3:15, ESV). Jesus was baptized in the Jordan river but there isn’t a for sure account on the location of where it was at, but most likely it was at the upper part of the river and Jesus was baptised by John the baptist. In general the baptism was organized and being done by John and his disciples (Smith, 2016). The Jordan river is shown in the bible many times even in the book of 2 Kings, where “Elisha was sent by an angel to go and wash himself in the Jordan seven time and he shall be clean” (2 Kings 5:10-14, ESV). Then there where Joshua led the israelites into the promised land and they crossed the Jordan on dry land.
