John (The Gospel): In this particular book which is one of the four Gospels and is called the called the Gospel of John is known to be that of a what is recognized as what we would call or know as a narrative literary genre (Smith, 2016). According to our text, “The Author of this book is John and he is known at the “the beloved disciple” and the people that were receiving this were the Greek-speaking Jews that were living outside of the city of Israel. The Gospel of John was recorded or told to be written sometime following the year of 70 AD and before 90 AD in a place called Ephesus” (Hindson & Towns, 2013, pp. 383-384). In the Gospel of John, John himself shows that his identity falls on his own self as the only, “the disciple Jesus loved” and in this Gospel there is a close relationship to that of John and Peter. Also, in this book, John is known as the most likely to get chosen as Jesus’s number one disciple and also John was mostly know as the son of Zebedee (Hindson & Towns, 2013, p. 384). Also, this gospel, John uses words as “I am” to affirm certain proclamation of Christ and His words. For instance, “John proclaims God words through, “I am the bread of Life” (6:35), “I am the light of the world” (8:12), and “I am the resurrection and the life” (11:25)” (Hindson & Towns, 2013, p. 388).
