He was a lawyer who died february 23 1826. He was also known as atlas of independence. He was in a comfortable non wealthy farming life. Liked outdoors skipped school to fish hunt at first he was thinking to grow up as a farmer but his father thought otherwise. Entered Harvard college at the age of 15 , graduated in 1755 he also taught in a latin school to gain tuition fees to study law which he studied for 2 years
