After he arrived back in the United States of America he was on the ballot for the first presidency for the USA, but George Washington took the lead. Since he didn’t win the election he became America’s first vice president. Soon John became frustrated with his job because he was not in as much control as George with political or legal issues. Lucky, 7 years later Adam’s was elected Federalist nominee for president. He became president in 1797, but won by a narrow margin. As John Adams reached the age of 90 he died in July 4, 1826. His last words were “Thomas Jefferson still survives”, but he didn’t know that Thomas Jefferson passed that morning. Everyone should remember John Adams because he was a remarkable president, vice president, and founding father . During his lifetime he helped the United States by help make our Declaration of Independence, became our president, and did even more to help our country.
