Even though John Adam’s was not widely well known or popular, he is one of the most patriotic and dedicated men throughout American history. His strong character and patriotic passion gave him one of the longest lists of contributions to the success of America. He worked behind the scenes along with many other excellent founding fathers to set up an efficient government that will last for centuries. His strong moral compass and gifted intellectual abilities made him an essential part to the formation of our country.

His patriotism was also exhibited through four articles published in the Boston Gazette titled “Essay on the Canon and Feudal Law”. These four articles were written in strong opposition to the Stamp act of 1765 and further spread the concept of american independence as a plausible solution to the problem. John Adams displayed his fairness and mercy by defending the british soldiers responsible for the british massacre in trail. By agreeing to represent these men, John Adam’s law career was injured. However, he gained the respect of many other founding fathers. Adams strongly supported american independence from early on. He was well liked by his peers. He was so respected that he was appointed to draft the Declaration of Independence along with Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin, Robert R. Livingston and Roger Sherman.
