The Addams Family is well-known to ever in American society, and for good reason. Most of the members in this prominent family contributed something in their lifetime that would change the course of American history. John Adams is the most well-known for being the first vice president and the second President of the United States but that is not all he achieved. During the first stages of the revolution, he was a strong spokesperson for Independence and led widespread opposition to the Stamp Act further he was the one to nominate George Washington for commander-in-chief and of the army. Adams was one of the Massachusetts representatives to the First Continental Congress, and he also served as the head of the board of war and Ordnance. After he was elected president, he saved America from ruined by not engaging in war with France. Historians differ in opinion of whether John was a valuable president or not, but they all agree that one of the most important things that Mr. Adams ever did in office was named John Marshall as the second Chief Justice of the Supreme Court. Abigail Adams was considered one of the most influential of the founding fathers wives. She was the husband of the second President of the United States and the mother of the six. After Abigail (also known as Nabby) has spent four years traveling in Paris in England she met Col. William Smith who asked her to marry him. Her parents approved of the Union and within a year of their marriage they had a baby. col. Smith was a fortune Seeker he was never able to actually find his fortune. Nabby had a hard life trying to raise and support her four children on her own because her husband was often traveling. At age 44 she discovered that she had breast cancer and although she was able to recover, it left her feeble and weak and she died only two years
