The work of Susan Griffin is unique, and it may not be easily to classify it in the existing genres of literature. When one goes through her work for the first time, it is easy to assume that it is a novel, a story about her past. However, it becomes clear as one continues to read her work that this is not just a simple novel meant to entertain her audience using fiction. The details she provides about various events and the manner in which she chooses her words clearly points out that this is not a work of fiction. She narrates about her past experiences and how she related to people around her in a way that makes one believe that the work could even be an autobiography.…

In both Unyong-jon and Mujong (The Heartless) the roles of the women characters serve as critical players for progression of the novels. From the novel Unyong-jon, the characters of Unyong can be compared to the character of Park Yong-ch’ae from Mujong. Due to the difference between the two novels time periods, the stories contrast sharply while similarly telling the story of relationships between the women characters and their lovers. By contrasting the two characters roles to each other, a comparison can be made as to how the time period played a significant factor in the outcome and actions of the women in each story. These women characters aid in the better understanding of their roles during the contrasting time periods of the two novels.…

Source After reading far past the halfway point of this book, I am still reading back and forth from the perspectives of Marie-Laure LeBlanc and Werner Pfennig. I am currently at the seventh segment of the novel; each presenting a different time period of the story (1940, 1944, 1938, etc). Previously, both main characters were sheltered by their family and avoided the negative impacts brought by World War II.…

The author, the History, and the Story The author’s personal experiences and the history of the worlds past are used as a literary masterpiece: from Khaled Hoessini’s The Kite Runner that tells of the last days of the Afghan monarchy in the 1970s to the post-Taliban near present or Markus Zuask’s exploration of the Holocaust in The Book Thief to Harper Lee’s To Kill a Mockingbird that tells a story by depicting life-altering events throughout his childhood. History is the study of change overtime and historical fiction brings the history alive through characterization, themes and an accurate setting. The historical experience is entertaining and instructive – a prominent pattern in literature that creates an in-depth story as well as lasting…

Have you ever told a story about events that happened to you, but then someone else tells the same story with minor different details? This is because everyone has a perspective, and maybe one person saw someone throw spaghetti at a light while another person saw the same person throw an entire lunch at a light. However, both of these are still a valid perspective, even if one of the truths might have been stretched a little. In the book, Persepolis, Marjane lives in Iran during the 1970s, and she took part in the Iranian Revolution that was going on. The perspective of Marjane Satrapi as a child influences the historical accuracy of imperialism, nationalism, and gender roles of her autobiography, Persepolis.…

    Mauryas Summary

Quite a bit of our insight about state strategy under the Mauryas originates from the Arthashastra composed by Kautilya (all the more famously known as Chanakya), who was a Brahmin pastor under Chandragupta Maurya. In spite of the fact that it was composed toward the end of the fourth century BC, it seems to have been rediscovered just in 1905, following quite a while of insensibility. The treatise in its present structure is in all probability not the content composed by Kautilya, however it is presumably taking into account a content that was wrote by Kautilya; and for no situation can the content completely be credited to Kautilya, because of various elaborate and semantic varieties. The book, written in Sanskrit, examines speculations…
